West Virginia Behavioral Healthcare Providers Association CEO Mark Drennan attended the National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s Annual Association Executives Retreat last week in Denver, Colorado.
The Annual Executives Retreat serves as a yearly gathering for behavioral healthcare association executives from across the country to meet and share current successes, challenges, legislative landscapes and strategies, and more within their respective organizations and states. Executives traveled all the way from Alaska to Florida and everywhere in between to visit the high elevations of The Centennial State.
“It was rejuvenating to visit the beautiful mountains of Colorado to interact with my peers from across the U.S.,“ Mark Drennan recounted. “I always look forward to discussing current topics with my counterparts such as CCBHC implementation, growing our memberships, how they’re addressing the nationwide workforce shortage in our industry, and how they manage their associations internally and externally.”
“The retreat is really such an important opportunity to represent our association on a national level and to gauge where we stand among the nation’s bigger states. We are a real player at the table and that fact becomes more evident each year as West Virginia is called upon for best practices and strategy,” Drennan said.
The WVBHPA looks to carry the positive momentum from a busy summer into its Annual Senior Leaders Conference, which will be held October 11th through the 13th at the Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, West Virginia.
