Bob Hansen has worked in the Behavioral Health field in West Virginia for over 39 years. His career started at Shawnee Hills in 1975. In 1980 he became the first Executive Director of the Potomac Center, a position he left in 1985 to serve as the Director for the Office of Behavioral Health for the State of West Virginia. His longest stint as a CEO was at Prestera Center for Mental Health Services. He served as the leader of Prestera Center for 22 years. During his time at Prestera the agency grew to be an eight county agency with over 850 employees. Prestera was the recipient of many SAMHSA and HUD grants through the years that enabled the agency to launch many new programs to meet the needs of its citizens with behavioral health needs.
Bob’s passion through the years was to creatively try to meet the needs of consumers, and to do so with a collaborative approach to providing series. He has been married for 43 years to Linda who continues to be the rock for his work and life. Presently redefining retirement by working with several non-profits in the Huntington area, helps keep him focused each day.
Bob and Linda have two sons who remain in West Virginia and three grandchildren.
